Considered Questions
The questions mothers actually ask.
Does checking my financing options hurt my credit?
No. Pre-qualifying is a soft-pull check — it takes about a minute and does not affect your credit score, whatever the result. A hard inquiry, if one is ever needed, only happens later and only with your separate consent.
What does “$0 down” actually reserve?
It holds your date on Dr. Marchand’s calendar with nothing due today. Your complete, all-inclusive figure is still prepared transparently at consultation, once a plan exists for your case — $0 down simply removes the upfront-cash obstacle to getting there.
When does my first payment actually come due?
With a deferred first payment, billing can begin after your recovery rather than during it — so the weeks you’re not earning aren’t also the weeks a bill lands. Financing is subject to lender approval, and exact terms are confirmed by the financing partner and the practice.
Who’ll take care of my kids while I recover?
This is the question most mothers lead with, and it’s planned before your date, not after. Weeks one and two are the restricted stretch — no lifting the little ones — so we map out in advance who helps with the house and the school run, and where a private recovery-support arrangement can be added if you’d like one.
Can breastfeeding come before or after?
Yes — timing matters. It’s generally best to wait until you’ve finished nursing and your breasts have settled (often several months after weaning) before a breast procedure, so the result is planned on your true shape. As for feeding future babies, that’s discussed candidly at consultation as part of the plan.
I had a C-section. Does that change anything?
Often for the better. Where possible the existing caesarean scar can be worked with — incorporated into the tummy-tuck incision rather than added to. It’s reviewed openly at consultation so nothing about your history is a surprise on the day.
Can’t I just fix the belly pouch with more core work?
Often not. A pouch that survives diet and exercise is frequently diastasis — separated abdominal muscle — which planks and crunches physically cannot knit back together. A tummy tuck repairs the muscle itself; that’s the difference, and why effort alone rarely finishes the job.
Is it safe — and how much recovery are we really talking about?
It’s real surgery, with real anaesthesia, a real recovery and real risks — done by a double board-certified surgeon in a fully accredited facility. The restricted stretch is roughly the first two weeks, with a gradual return over about six; timelines are typical ranges and individual, never guaranteed. Everything is spelled out before you agree to it.
How do I know if I’m even a candidate?
The short candidacy & readiness review on this page gives a considered first read in about a minute, including what you may qualify for with $0 down. It isn’t a diagnosis — a board-certified surgeon confirms candidacy, and the right timing, at your complimentary consultation.
